Personal Profile
Dr Hilary Grimmer is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who has recently completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at Griffith University. Hilary has also successfully completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cognitive Science and a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) at the University of Queensland.
Hilary has experience in providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to both adult and child clients who present with symptoms and difficulties associated with anxiety, phobias, eating disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and perinatal mental health concerns. Hilary also has specialist knowledge in brain and cognitive functioning and the completion of psychological assessments to support diagnostic clarification and treatment planning.
Hilary has a flexible and person-centred therapeutic style and draws her interventional approach from the frameworks of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-Enhanced. Hilary's practice is informed by her knowledge and appreciation of how beliefs and experiences shape our lives and prides herself on working collaboratively with clients to support improved wellbeing and achieve their goals.
