Personal Profile

Nicholas is a Clinical Psychology Registrar who holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Queensland. He brings a unique professional background that bridges high-performance training, education, and mental health care. Preceded his training and work in Clinical Psychology, Nicholas has a background in the Australian Defence Force (ADF). This experience informs his interest in supporting individuals facing significant life transitions, high-performance demands, and the unique challenges encountered by defence personnel.

 

Nicholas' Clinical Psychology experience has equipped him with a broad and versatile foundation, having provided individual and group treatment for mood disorders, substance misuse, PTSD, and health promotion within both private and public hospital settings. Nicholas has also worked within the private practice setting supporting clients with a wide range of psychological concerns, including anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, relationship challenges, and parenting support. Nicholas has experience in the assessment and diagnoses of neurodivergence and learning disorders and the implementation of effective psychological interventions to support academic, occupational, and social functioning.

 

Nicholas works with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges including:

He draws on a range of evidence-based interventions to provide effective and personalised care. Nicholas' therapeutic approach is non-judgemental and collaborative, allowing for the development of a supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and motivated to work through their presenting concerns. Through his combined expertise in psychology, education, and high-performance training, Nicholas brings a unique perspective to his clinical practice which assists him in supporting others to build practical, long-term strategies to manage life’s challenges, enhance wellbeing, and develop confidence and self-efficacy for lasting personal growth.
